Event Summary:
The Momentus Backyard Ultra & Fun Run/Fun Ruck offers an extraordinary trail running experience for all fitness levels. Set on our friend, Deangelo Williams’, Rushing Family Farm…a picturesque 100-acre farm in Monroe, NC. This event is not just a race; it's a celebration of endurance, community, and the great outdoors. Open to all levels and ages of runners, this unique event encourages participants to challenge themselves in a friendly and supportive environment.

Key Features:
3 Different Registration Options for Your Desired Level of Participation: Choose between a “Fun Run” that is 4 or 8 miles (1 or 2 laps), challenge your strength and speed in a “Fun Ruck”, or see just how far you can go with the “Ultra” event with no max limit to the mileage you can run. Vibrant Village Atmosphere: The event features a lively 'village' with a campsite, and food trucks available at specific times. Runners will have access to complimentary coffee and water, with additional food and beverages for sale.
Professionally Organized: While runners are self-supported for essential materials, the race provides medical access as needed and an experienced staff in race organization.
Official BackYard Race Format: Following the official Backyard Ultra Race rules, each runner will start every hour to run a 'yard' (4.167 miles). Any remaining time within the hour is for rest. The race continues until only one runner completes a yard on the hour, with all others receiving a DNF (Did Not Finish).
Unique Runner Identification: Runners will receive unique numbers, surrendered upon failure to make the start line at the hour.
Rewards for Participation: All participants who receive a DNF will be awarded unique participation material + any runner achieving the 100-mile distance will receive a custom belt buckle. The winner of the Event will have additional prizes.
Backyard Race: Limited to 75 total runners/ruckers. Ultra Registration is $95 per racer, which includes parking, admission for support crew members, and friend/family support. Register HERE
FUN RUN: The Fun Run registration cost is $45 per racer, which includes parking, admission for support crew members, and friend/family support. Register HERE
FUN RUCK: Ruckers must wear a ruck-specific pack with 20 lbs for anyone weighing under 150 lbs and 30 lbs for anyone over 150 lbs. Ruck participants are limited to 10 spots and will still be required to complete the 4.167 miles in the 1-hour time frame to continue to the next loop.
General Admission: Free, covering parking and daily spectator access.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE:
5:00 AM - Venue opens
6:00 AM to 7:15 AM - Packet Pickup
7:00 AM - Mandatory Athlete Meeting
7:15 AM - All athletes should be on site and checked in
8:00 AM - Backyard Ultra, Fun Run, Ruck Starts
Both the Fun Run and Ultra Race start on June 1st, 2024, at 8:00 AM and continue until 2 loops for the Fun Run and the last man is standing for the Ultra and Run Ruck…typically lasting around 24 hours.
