Part 1

A Detailed Discussion for a Clear Vision of Success

We’ll begin with an in-depth conversation where we define success and gain an idea of how to best serve you. You never have to share anything you’re not comfortable sharing, but the more clear, the better.

Part 2

Passive Joint Range-of-Motion (ROM) Assessment

With your dream outcome established and in mind, we’ll move into a passive joint ROM assessment. This tells us how your joints are moving with you putting forth no effort. It’s crucial for identifying flexibility, potential restrictions, tissue imbalances, as well as tissue quality.

Part 3

Active Joint Range-of-Motion (ROM) Assessment

Now that we’ve learned how your joints can move, it’s time to see how well YOU can move them – which is what Active ROM assessments tell us. This is essential for evaluating muscular strength, coordination, and the functional ability of your joints.

Part 4

Exercise Specific/Global Assessments

These are tailored assessments designed to determine your readiness and capability to perform specific exercises safely and effectively. They help in identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas that require improvement related to specific movements within our program. Some examples include Push-up, Single-leg RDL, or a Dumbbell 1-arm row.

Part 5

Additional Evaluation (as needed)

Based on your situation and what your coach is seeing in real-time, they may have you complete additional assessments. This is done when we want to gain a specific insight that may fall outside of our traditional battery of exercises. It all builds to us knowing exactly how to program for results.

Part 6

Recap, Questions, & Scheduling

As the hour winds down, your coach will do a brief recap of what your program may look like based on the assessment just completed. We’re happy to answer any additional questions about the process you may have here as well. From there, we’ll make sure you have your future sessions scheduled out – and it’s off to the races!

Monthly Progress Reassessments

Regular reassessments are pivotal to your journey, providing clear insights into your progress and highlighting areas for improvement. This ongoing evaluation ensures your fitness plan remains aligned with your evolving goals and capabilities, guaranteeing that every session moves you closer to your ultimate goals.

Assessment FAQ

  • Great question! The short answer is no, not really. While you’ll definitely be moving around, we wouldn’t classify it as a workout. But rather a series of passive and active movements that give us insight into how your body can currently move.

  • Absolutely! Your assessment is meant to be a diagnostic tool.

  • Love that you’re thinking about that! Wear whatever you like so long as you can move unrestricted. We’re biased, but athletic-wear works great!

  • All sessions with Momentus Personal Training last one hour.

    We take your time seriously and always aim to respect it. If you need to be done within an hour, let us know and we canbudget our time together accordingly.

  • While we have built our training system so that one appointment connects to another – there is no obligation to purchase a membership if you complete an assessment and do not wish to move forward.

    In such a case, you would only be responsible for the assessment, which is currently $85.

  • 100% yes. And dare we say – an assessment would be the best possible way for you to take up training for the first time.
