The Momentus Backyard Ultra & Fun Run turns a single loop into something unforgettable. Hosted on DeAngelo Williams’ Rushing Family Farm, a stunning 100-acre property in Monroe, NC, this event blends challenge, community, and wide-open space in a way that grabs you from the first step. The format levels the playing field: seasoned ultra runners line up beside first-timers, parents run beside kids, and everyone is chasing their own version of “one more loop.” Whether you're aiming for your first backyard attempt or returning to push farther than last year, you'll find a supportive crew, a forgiving course, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you believe you’ve got more in you than you realized.

Key Features:
2 Different Registration Options for Your Desired Level of Participation: Choose between a “Celebrity Charity Loop Run” that is 4.167 miles (1 lap) with local stars from Professional Sports and Entertainment or see just how far you can go with the “Ultra” event with no max limit to the mileage you can run. Register HERE
Vibrant Village Atmosphere: The event features a lively 'village' with plenty of room for tents and a support crew set up. The energy is high with 24 hours of continuous music (you can even add your own music to our race Spotify playlist upon registration). Runners will have access to complimentary coffee and water at our aid station.
Professionally Organized: While runners are self-supported with essential materials, the race provides first-aid access as needed and an experienced staff for race organization from end to end.
Official BackYard Race Format: Following the official Backyard Ultra Race rules, each runner will start every hour to run a 'yard' (4.167 miles). Any remaining time within the hour is for rest. The race continues until only one runner completes a yard on the hour, with all others receiving a DNF (Did Not Finish).
Unique Runner Identification: Runners will receive unique numbers, surrendered upon failure to make the start line at the hour.
Unique Rewards: We can’t promise that everyone will receive a participation trophy but we can say that we will reward those who reach specific milestones of ultra status and speed laps, along with the winner. Awards will vary in design and function and be revealed at registration.
Backyard Ultra Race: Limited to 200 total runners. Ultra Early Bird Registration is $105 (all-in with fees) per racer, which includes parking, admission for support crew members, and friend/family support. Register HERE. Once we hit 1/12026, the registration price goes up until we are sold out (2025 was a sold out event).
Celebrity Loop RUN: The charity registration cost is $55 (all-in with fees) per racer, which includes parking, admission for Runners, and friend/family support. Register HERE
General Admission: Free, covering parking and daily spectator access. Please note that only registered runners are able to park on site. Access for viewers and additional vehicles will be off site.
MANDATORY PRE-RACE ATHLETE MEETING & PACKET PICKUP:

Option 1: All Ultra and Celebrity Loop registrants are strongly encouraged to pick up their race materials the day before the event.

Each packet will include your official race bib, race partner promotions, a parking map, and key instructions for race day.
We strongly recommend picking up your bib during this window to avoid race-morning lines and help create a smoother, more efficient experience for runners, crew, and event staff.
At 7:00 PM, we will hold a mandatory virtual pre-race meeting to review race-day logistics, instructions, and final details. Runners may attend this meeting in person at Charlotte Running Company Promenade or online.
Option 2 RACE DAY:
Saturday, May 30, 2026
If picking up your packet on Friday is absolutely impossible, race-morning pickup will still be available, but expect more congestion and a more rushed pre-race experience. Race Day Pickup At the race site, near the start line

Packets may be picked up at either of the athlete meetings.
RACE DAY SCHEDULE:
5:00 AM - Venue opens
5:00 AM to 7:30 AM - Packet Pickup
7:30 AM - All athletes should be on site and checked in
7:40 AM - Mandatory Racer Meeting
8:00 AM - Backyard Ultra, Celebrity Loop Starts
Both the Celebrity Loop and Ultra Race start on May 30th, 2026, at 8:00 AM and continue until 1 loop for the Fun Run and the last man is standing for the Ultra…typically lasting around 24 hours.
